Services

The DMC has staff available to show you how to use the equipment and software. Certain jobs which require extended lengths of time such as burning of CDs or compressing video may be left with staff to complete. Although walk-ins are welcome, appointments by phone or email are requested so we may set-up equipment and software ahead of time. If you would like to make an appointment or have questions, please go to the Contacts page.

Software Support :

Faculty and staff who require help with various software are welcome to visit the DMC for individualized help. We can provide introductory training with software such as Photoshop, PowerPoint, Dreamweaver, iMovie, iDVD, WebCT and others. For a listing of software we support, go to the Media Tools page.

Scanning:

Slide scanners are available along with flat-bed scanners. Scans can be made for web pages, publications, videos, archiving and for Powerpoint slides. Many faculty now scan slides and then archive to CD-ROM.

VCR players are also available to digitize from video tape. You can bring your own camcorder which can be connected by Firewire or S-Video. Still frames can also be captured from video. Video footage can be exported to Quicktime or Realvideo for the web, CD-ROM or exported to VHS tape. We also have iDVD software to create DVDs.
